Batch Purge Data
The Purge function in IntelliTrack Mobile Batch manages data size by keeping the database size to a minimum on the handheld. The collected data should be purged regularly after it is uploaded.
When you operate IntelliTrack Mobile Batch, you have two ways to purge the collected data.
- Automatically after the collected data is uploaded
- Manually from the View Collected Data form
Important: The IntelliTrack Mobile purge options are only available with IntelliTrack Mobile Batch.
Automatic Purge Option
Warning: When you enable this option, the handheld application will not contain backup data. If you do not want your data purged automatically after upload, do not enable this option.
To automatically purge collected data after upload, select the Purge collected data after upload option in the User Preferences form.
- Select Tools > Preferences from the menu bar.
- The User Preferences form appears.
- Purge collected data after upload option:
- when marked, data is automatically purged on the handheld after uploading the collected data.
- when unmarked, data is not automatically purged on the handheld after uploading the collected data.
- Select the Save icon to save this option, close the User Preferences form, and return to the Main form.
Manual Purge Option
Warning: Proceed with caution when purging your collected data. Once the collected data is purged, it is permanently removed from the device and cannot be retrieved.
If you do not select the Purge collected data after upload option in the User Preferences form, the collected data will not automatically be purged after a successful upload, the data will remain as collected data until it is manually deleted or purged. At the View Collected Data form, you are able to purge the collected data or delete a selected record. Once the data is removed by using either option, it cannot be retrieved.
Important: If you do not regularly purge the collected data, it may accumulate and result in duplicate records being uploaded to the main IntelliTrack web application. We strongly recommend that you monitor your IntelliTrack application inventory and history to ensure that a duplicate transaction has not been processed inadvertently at the Upload Processing page.
- Select View > Collected Data from the menu bar to reach this form.
- The View Collected Data form shows all collected data stored in the IntelliTrack Mobile Batch database.
- To purge the collected data, select the Purge button.
- A prompt appears asking you to confirm deleting the data.
- Select OK to close the prompt and purge the data. (If you click Cancel, the prompt closes and the data is not purged.)
